Julia Nagle Conservation provides museum standard care to the wider art community. Our dedicated team brings experience and professional links from major museums such as Tate Modern, The National Gallery London, and The Metropolitan Museum New York. High-grade materials, reversible techniques, long-term care and clear documentation are at the heart of our philosophy. Treatments retain the authenticity of the artworks, while making them safe for display in a wide variety of settings.
The studio treats paintings on canvas, wood and metal, and polychrome sculptures. While internationally recognized for our expertise in conservation of modern and contemporary art, we are also proficient in the treatment of easel paintings of all ages and in many different materials. We pride ourselves on being a lively, approachable and responsive team, able to accept large commissions at short notice.
Julia Nagle has £1,000,000 professional indemnity insurance, enabling her to work freelance for public collections at Tate and the Serpentine Gallery, among others. The studio is fully insured. Insurance for individual paintings should either be arranged by the owner or we can extend our cover if desired. All paintings must be insured while at the conservation studio and owners are required to sign a declaration to this effect.
We are based in a fully equipped, modern conservation studio with excellent access and security. The studio is conveniently located with good transport links and free parking. We receive clients by appointment from Monday to Friday, and can meet outside normal hours by special arrangement.
